Activity Topic - • Training cum Farmers Meeting and interaction with the famers were conducted, where around 110 farmers attained the programme along with Mr. Bahadur singh, SDO, Sehore and other officers. We conducted training on the advanced weed management practices besides demonstration sites and attended each and every theoretical and practical problems related to crop management in general and wheat cultivation in particular. They were imparted knowledge on different aspects of herbicides use, effective herbicides to be applied in crops, their application methods, timing of application, safety aspects, herbicide rotation, herbicide resistance, weed identification procedures etc. Famers were interacted with us and gained the knowledge and confidence on weed management.• Famers were very much enthusiastic and showed their keen to learn attitude and gained the knowledge regarding weed management. However, some of the farmers were not aware about the safety aspects during application of chemicals. Thus they were got affected. We interacted with the farmer who was affected by the pesticide application and suggested to contact physician and take good treatmentAt the end, Training cum Farmers Meeting were ended with formal vote of thanksGeneral observations:Crop condition: In both the districts at demonstration cites crop health was goodAt Hoshangabad: Herbicide application was in full swingAt Sehore: Weed management practices adopted as suggestedAwareness about weed management strategies: Less awareFuture course of action: Urgent visit of farmers to ICAR-DWR, Jabalpur is required from both the districts to build their confidence on weed management by using various measures and crop health management.
